Mission
Housed in the Office of the Provost, the OWC's mission is to unify, amplify, and expand the university’s impressive legacy as a leader in writing and communication. Our office aims to sustain Iowa's leadership in writing and communication by investing in excellence. We are a strategic hub, illuminating shared resources and increasing program visibility while simultaneously supporting the autonomy of individual units. We offer a more unified communications strategy for writing-related programs at Iowa, enhance audience reach for our campus partners, and create new professional and academic opportunities for students, staff, and faculty across disciplines at Iowa.
